Description Title

YAM is a ministry that offers a space for fellowship and spiritual growth for college students and college graduates entering into the working world.

Explorer's Bible Study

Have you been praying about getting involved in a Bible Study this Fall? Explorer's Bible Study is a non-demonimational study designed to bring believers closer to God through the in-depth study of God's Word.

The Brandon Bible Study Explorer's group meets each Thursday morning from 9:30 - 11:00 at Crossgates United Methodist Church. The teaching time is led by Brenda Cole Whittington and is followed by small group time where participants go over their workbook study questions and answers for each week, all with the purpose of growing to spiritual maturity in Christ.

Anyone can call or text Dorothy Walker (our group administrator) at (601) 506-0572 for more information or to pre-register for this 30-week study.

No childcare will be provided.

Helping the Homeless

Teresa Renkenberger is the founder of Shower Power. Mary Ann Kirby is the director of operations. Together they have created a safe place for the area's homeless and marginally sheltered to come and take a shower, be fed, clothed, and be loved.

The United Women in Faith group is having a winter coat drive for Shower Power Ministry.  We will be collecting clean, gently used or new items for men and women.  There will be a large box in the storage room 304 by the main office to place the items.  If you have any questions, contact Donna Rademacker, 601-942-0854.

WITNESS MINISTRIES

Volunteers & Help Needed

This ministry is in need for volunteers on Sundays to help and be a part of this important ministry in our church. They are in need for volunteers to continue to reach to those who are unable to attend in person or who are still seeking for a church to call home.

Volunteers Needed:

• Camera Operators (sanctuary & robotic camera in studio)

• Sound Operators (sanctuary & livefeed)

• Slides (creating & operating)

• Graphics

If you are interested in joining this ministry please contact Roger Harrison

JOIN

Need Your Help

We need of 4 volunteers to serve on our church mowing teams. We have 4 teams with 2 members on each team. Each team serves one time per month for about 3 hours.

You would serve on one of these teams and help trim and weed eat around the buildings as well as mowing the playground and garden area. All equipment is provided.

If you are interested in helping maintain our property and would like more information call Jack Savage-601-519-3422 or Marty Herndon—601-540-9001.

Join a Team

Biscuits on Sunday mornings have been a long standing tradition here at Crossgates, and we are blessed to have this tradition return.

If you love to have biscuits on Sunday mornings, please join one of our teams or  form a new team with friends to help contiunue this tradition.

Please contact Charles Walley to join the Biscuit Patrol.

Members Needed

Our Chancel Choir is back to rehearsing on Wednesday nights at 6:00 and leading Sunday morning worship services.

I have many exciting plans for the future here at Crossgates!  To see these plans into fruition, I need more singers!

If you enjoy singing, I invite you to join us.  You don’t have to be a soloist, you don’t have to be able to read music.

All you need is a desire to serve through the gift of music.

If you need childcare on Wednesday nights to enable you to attend, please let me know.

In Christ,

Kim

Ushering

Crossgates is looking for people to help with the ushering ministry.  This invitation is extended to both men and women!

When you agree to be an usher you will be on a rotation schedule.  You won’t have to serve at every church service.

What does an usher do?

A church usher is a person who helps ensure a smoothly running church service.  Ushers minister to people in many ways.  Ushers greet people as they arrive with a smile and a word of welcome.  Bulletins are distributed.

Ushers may help a new person find their way around our campus. People may need to know where the restrooms are or where the nursery is located.  Ushers help people with special needs who may need assistance.

Ushers take up the offerings of the people.  Ushers are present at the doorways when people leave.

Ushers provide an invaluable service to the church.  Ushers are the face of the church, the first ones that people see when they arrive and the last ones they see as they leave.  The heart of an usher is the heart of a servant.

If you would like to be an usher please contact Kim Hanson.
